Empowering Mechanical Innovation through the Intelligence of AI

A one-week Faculty Development Program held under the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy and sponsored by AICTE, New Delhi. It was organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Professional Studies.

Sessions

• Digital Twins & Virtual Machining. Technologies that let manufacturers create virtual replicas of physical machines and processes to simulate, optimise and test operations before implementing them in the real world.
• Automation in Thermal Power Plants. Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and automated diagnostic tools for managing processes and minimising downtime.
• Government-prioritised research domains in Mechanical Engineering. Areas aligned with national priorities such as energy, manufacturing and defence.
• Latest trends in resource management. Employee-centric models, data-driven decision making and the use of AI to optimise resource allocation.
• Additive Manufacturing in Industry 4.0. 3D printing as a key technology in the integration of digital technologies into manufacturing.
• Autonomous Vehicles. Vehicles capable of sensing their environment and navigating without human input.
• AI-driven alternatives to conventional simulation workflows. Machine learning and automation for faster, more accurate design validation and process optimisation.
